Robert Ripley's cartoon column had to be a natural for TV and indeed there have been several shows based on the panel.

I liked the show with Jack Palance who could chew the scenery in every presentation and we loved it.
There were three co-hosts but my favorite was his daughter Holly Palance.

This was a Vitaphone theatrical release from 1931

And a failed pilot from 1956. If you watch it you will believe it failed ( wow was it boring)

America! ‘The Tinsel Mecca’ (1963) (Unaired Pilot)

This is the un-aired pilot version that sold the show. John Guedel introduces Jack Douglas, who introduces the program. Contains great footage of Los Angeles in the early 1960s. At the end are "scenes from future shows", in which we see, among others, Arlene Dahl, Actress, Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959). (From YouTube)

Includes Disneyland, Wax Museum, Angel's Flight, Chinatown, Olvera Street, the beach, the Magic Castle, the Troubadour, and the Roaring 20's nitery, according to archivist's notes. The Tinsel Mecca focuses on the color and glamour of Hollywood. Attractions include Corriganville, a prop Western town used for movies and TV; Grauman's Chinese Theatre; an exhibit at Marineland of the Pacific; Forest Lawn Memorial Park; and the Academy of Magical Arts"--TV Guide, September 8, 1964 (From archive.org)

You might want to do a heads up in 77 Sunset Strip Neal. We got some guys in there that die for vintage LA footage.

When I say the world's biggest rodeo where do you think of. Well if you said Calgary Canada you were right.
So it's no wonder that we might have a country show produced in Canada.

When a country boy goes from gas pump jockey to Marine and then gets his discharge, where does he go next? Why to his own variety show of course.

Jan & Dean: On The Run (1966) Unaired Pilot Director William Asher Stars Jan Berry Dean Torrence Jack Fletcher Hal Blaine Herb Vigran Donna Danton Arthur Julian Gordon Connell James Price Bo Svenson Peggy Everth Judith Rockley

Unaired TV pilot starring the pop duo Jan & Dean. Filmed in 1966, this follows the teen superstars as they study, play concerts and generally dick about. It's great fun, especially the concert footage and interesting to watch Jan hobble around with a busted foot, an injury he sustained whilst attempting to shoot the movie 'Easy Come, Easy Go'.
