In this final episode, Friday and Gannon talk to a new policeman about the importance of police officers and detectives working together, and understanding the victims and criminals.

In my teens Dragnet was great entertainment for my friends and I. Something we enjoyed as a comedy vehicle. The two episodes which stood out above all were S01E01 The LSD Story (Jan.12.1967) and S03E20 Burglary: DR-31 (May.06.1969). The latter particularly because reading and collecting comic books was more important than anything else. Posted on the previous page in full here is a segment featuring Stanley Stover as The Crimson Crusader followed by a nice print of the The LSD Story.

This wraps up the Sgt. Joe Friday "Friday" Marathon. Thanks again to Russ to Jeff and to Marv for making this visit back in time so memorable.

Friday and Gannon encounter Benjy "Blue Boy" Carver, an LSD user. Because of the then-lack of any laws against the use of LSD, they are unable to make a case against him, and Carver's parents are of no help. Finally, legislation is passed against LSD use and sale, but by then it may be too late for "Blue Boy".

Police Squad! was an American television crime comedy series broadcast on the ABC network in 1982. It was created by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker, and starred Leslie Nielsen as Frank Drebin. A spoof of police procedurals, the series featured Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker's usual sight gags, wordplay and non sequiturs. While a parody of many television shows and movies, it bore a particular resemblance to the Lee Marvin cop show M Squad (in particular the opening credits) and the late 1960s series Felony Squad.[2] Although the show was canceled after six episodes, it later successfully spawned The Naked Gun film series from 1988 to 1994. In 2013, TV Guide ranked it #7 on its list of 60 shows that were "Cancelled Too Soon". (From Wikipedia.)

Note: Each episode had two titles. The first title was shown on the screen while announcer Hank Simms (famous for his announcing style on Quinn Martin detective shows) read the second one instead.
