My trusty old Denon 1082/3802 passed away last night and my unbelievably compassionate wife has given me the green light to upgrade... however, I'm deeply afraid she may have second thoughts by the time I get home from work tonight, so I need some help FAST. Here's what I need:

- Untouched HDMI passthrough and switching
- All the latest HD audio codecs
- 7.1 or 7.2
- Good/great power (would prefer 115wpc or higher)
- Superior THD rating vs my old receiver

Here's my gear:
Panasonic AE3000U
Denon AVR-1082
VP150
M60 x2
QS8 x4
SVS PC12-Plus x2

... I'm sure there's more I need and would like to have, and normally I would take much more time to research, but this opportunity could disappear in a flash if I don't act today. Can anyone offer some good suggestions?

If you liked your old Denon, there's nothing wrong with getting a new one. They are still excellent receivers. Check out the 2809. Many Axiom owners use them (mainly to power their M80s).

I have a similar setup (same speakers, different SVS sub) and I power everything with an Onkyo 705. With your budget you could get the Onkyo 876.

Now order quickly before she changes her mind

Replacing my 3803 which works great, but NO HDMI or Audyssey.

Just did the same upgrade. Was waiting for the 3310 or 4310 but this deal was too good to pass up.

My 3803 will now be used for the patio speakers.

The 2809 are nice, and better do something about it while the light is green ;)
