I saw a couple threads about the different versions but nothing comparing them. I have a GC and a PS2. Anyone know which version I should get? Thanks

no question ps2 madden will be online for that and also gc has missing features. Gc's memory card isn't big enough, and PS2 controller blows it out of the water for control

Heh...I read on the IGN boards that the GC version takes all but one block of a memory card 251 to save a season.

Gamecube, less slowdown for sure. Also make sure you get the Interact 8meg card so you can put everybody you play against plus the dynasty mode on it.

I have all three systems and bought the Xbox version but I would have gotten the PS2 version over the Gamecube.

First, you can transfer the real roster names over a sharkport.

Second, it takes almost an entire 251 card for it.
I'm still having a hard time believing that one but I actually saw the box, 224 blocks. Wasn't the card released like last month and its already obsolete?
Great job Nintendo.
If they ever got off their butts and released the smart memory adaptor, it would be a tougher choice.

I think it's really lame the way they are handling their memory cards. First, you had to get some tiny memory card 59 if you wanted to save any of the early games. Then they release the memory card 251 which is still too small and stat heavy games like NCAA 2003 are already using the whole card. But if you want to save your season, you are forced to buy the 251 or go with a 3rd party card (which many people do not trust). In the future they have plans for a bigger memory card (the 1012 or something). Why the hell did they just not start with the big one in the first place? I understand wanting to make some money, but this is plain pathetic.

Thats reason enough for me. That means you have to buy the memory card with it so it goes from $50 to a $70 game. Thanks but I think I'll get the PS2 version! A nice fat 8mg card :D Where was nintendos head when they came up with there memory cards.

The 8meg interact card has tested well and has not had any problems on the Cube. That's what I use!

BUT I agree, I wanna know when tendo is gonna stop messing around and put out the digicard adapter so I can get 56 megs of memory or even more!

For an interesting comparison, can a PS2 owner tell me how many roster spots Michigan has to start with???

I had heard that 2002 addressed the problem of too few roster spots(2001 and previous had most teams with 46 or less) but on the GC Michigan only has 53. It seems the range is 46 to 54 for each team.

I just wanted to make sure that as a GC user I'm not being robbed of roster spots..

So nobody popped the disc into their BOX or PS2 and looked at the roster total for Michigan???
hey...I wouldn't take advice from a 13 year old either....
Fortunately, there aren't many 13 year olds registered here and those that are seem to be extremely mature for their age....

William,

Is there a quick way to get the number?

I put in the rosters for UF and FSU and there were more than enough room. Every starter plus 2nd and 3rd string.

I'm guessing it is the same on all three games.

Doug, if you show all positions(not just QB or HB) it says on the far right a total number....

So you're saying that your roster for FSU has 68 spots on it???

22(starters)
22(second string)
22(third string)
2(specialists)

The memory card thing is a real bitch on Game Cube. I've had the Cube version for about 5 days now and I think the game and control is great.
I have not played it much, but the PS2 version I played a few minutes of at BestBuy seemed about the same but the graphics did not seem as smooth as the Nintendo version and it looked to have more problems with jaggies.
Nintendo has to do something about their memory problems in a hurry. It's a total pain in the ass, that I have to buy a $20 memory card for every frickin sports game. I have ASB2003 and NCAA2003 and they both need the 251 cards. I have no doubt that NFL2k3, NBA2K3, & NHL 2003 will all suck up a ton or card space also
Hopefuly Mario Sunshine will fit on my 59 card

OK...After recruiting, what's the maximum number of roster spots for any team.... IN other words, after you recruit, what do you have to trum your roster down to. I would appreciate it if PS2 and XBox owners could chime in. On the cube it's 55. Which is better than what it was on 2001 and previous editions....
