Kevin Smith's movies: What am I missing? (1 Viewer)

Well, I was a poor white boy with plenty of nerdishness in my background. But I didn't ever read any comic books - although, as a nerdier type, I somehow gathered plenty of familiarity with the material (esp. Xmen).

And my wife likes Kevin Smith, esp. Clerks. Although she had some nerdish background as a really really young kid, she spent most of her teen years with troublemakers and drug dealers. She's gotten nerdier now, though, as she's addicted to anime

No I understand the reasoning behind it but I still think it betrayed the nature of character that Smith built up through the rest of the film, decisions we over-think and later regret I understand but this was pretty far out and...I don't know, condescending to men in general and to me just a copout in light of the difficult problem Smith set himself up with in this hard to resolve script.

I didn't see them walking off into the sunset, no, and I still like the movie but I do have problems with the ending.

This may be a silly reason, but I like Kevin Smith's films for the massive amount of swears. We know they don't mean anything, but the way swears work some people up into heights of consternation is so funny.
