I have a VR-309 receiver that just started having problems. I power it on and after about 5 seconds it powers off and the red LED at the power button blinks. This occurs even when there is nothing attached to the receiver, i.e. speakers or other components. Sometimes it will stay powered on for a minute or two before powering off.

Any ideas?

Thought I'd bump this once just in case someone who might have an idea missed it.

For what it's worth, It won't stay powered on at all anymore, it just lights the display for 3 seconds and dies.

Sounds like you need to have it serviced at an authorized Kenwood service center. Kenwood has a good support section on their website. Just go to the kenwoodusa website and click on the support section. There, you will find a link to Dealer/Service locator, which will list the authorized centers in your area;)
