I'll be waiting for the reviews for JL: War. If it's going to be pornographically violent like Flashpoint, I will gladly pass.
Pornographically violent? Really? I think you are over reacting a bit.

These series of films are often included in the kid's section, which is rather ignorant of retailers since they are generally rated as PG-13.

Beheadings, a POV shot through a hole in someone's head, bones crunching, blood splattering, a sexual assault (offscreen) -- I think that qualifies as extremely excessive for a superhero movie. That, and the relentlessly grim tone of the movie makes me stand by my comment that it was pornographically violent.

I think it was Kevin Feige, producer of the Marvel Studios films. who commented recently that he preferred what Marvel was doing with their films to the DC Universe films (Batman, Man of Steel, Green Lantern), since the latter were so grim that they were creating a universe that no one would really want to visit. I think that's true and the same is true for these DC animated films. They've wandered very far from what Bruce Timm and company did on the great animated series (Batman, Superman, Justice League, Green Lantern).

Quick question: Is there a complete Season 2 release for Marvel's Super Hero Squad? My kids got Season 1 for Christmas, and they love it. I can't seem to find a volume 2. If there isn't a complete season 2, what individual releases constitute season 2?

I've never watched the show, so I can't tell you personally what episodes are what, but here's the show's episode guide: CLICK HERE. Checking on Amazon and other sites, it looks they never assembled a Season 2. It appears, though, they are spread out on 4 DVDs called, THE SUPER HERO SQUAD SHOW: THE INFINITY GAUNTLET. Amazon has all of them.

SCOOP: Marvel Planning A GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Animated Series

From Comic Book Movie's site:

Senior editor Stephen Wacker hinted at the possibility in an interview last year, but a well placed source has confirmed to us that Marvel do indeed have plans for a new animated series focusing on the Guardians Of The Galaxy. Word is that Marvel were undecided on whether to go with GOTG or yet another Spider-Man cartoon, and although the latter may also happen, it seems they've settled on the Guardians for now. We don't have any info on when we can expect to see it etc, but it's a safe bet that like the other current Marvel animated shows, it will air on Disney XD. You can see the likes of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista bring the team to live-action life when Guardians Of The Galaxy hits theaters August 1, 2014.

Target-Exclusive “JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time” Movie Hitting DVD January 21st, 2014
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has confirmed that the new all-ages animated feature JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time will hit DVD on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014. The DVD-only release will be available exclusively at American Target locations starting next week. JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time features the greatest heroes of DC Comics squaring off against their most challenging foes. Click the image below for a closer look at the complete DVD cover artwork.

Dubbed a “stealth release,” wherein a home entertainment product is given no promotion and limited availability due to its perceived audience reach, JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time is an all-new original movie featuring the Justice League facing off against the classic Legion of Doom. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has currently not provided any official details about the animated movie, but JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time producer Giancarlo Volpe (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) has recently taken to social media to drop a few tidbits.

With a runtime of roughly 52 minutes, Volpe called the animated feature an “all-new adventure, featuring the Justice League and the Legion of Doom, plus a couple curve balls.” Volpe added that JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time is a stand-alone feature, but “in my head canon it could hook up to Green Lantern: The Animated Series.”

Volpe stated that the all-ages movie features design work by Lynell Forestall (DC Nation), and includes the traditional Justice League line-up along with a few new additions, including Robin and Karate Kid. The voice cast for JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time includes Grey DeLisle, Dante Basco, Jack DeSena, Diedrich Bader, and Jason Spisak, with the movie’s score provided by Frederik Wiedmann (Green Lantern: The Animated Series).

The studio has noted that if JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time is commercially successful through its exclusive Target “stealth release,” it will eventually expand and be available at other retail outlets. However, that is a not a guarantee.

JLA Adventures: Trapped In Time – a co-production between Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Animation – hits DVD on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014, available only at American Target locations. Stay tuned for additional updates and details on this title, including further coverage, in the coming weeks right here at The World’s Finest.

Interesting. DVD, no BD. Absolutely no promo support...how do they expect this to be successful, sales-wise, if no one knows about it?

I guess last years pairing of Black Widow and The Punisher in IRON MAN: THE RISE OF TECHNOVORE was popular enough to warrant another movie with them in it? WIthout a trailer I have no idea if this is another lame CGI movie or a traditionally animated one, which I prefer. If this is CGI, forget it, I'm out.

Interesting this is coming from Sony and not some division at Disney. Is there any character in this new movie that Sony holds license to? I don't think so. Wonder what deal was struck for this one...

And thanks for the link, Shawn. I'm still on the fence about it tomorrow, honestly. I really despise retailer exclusives and I'm wishy-washy on the tone...but knowing me, I'll end up getting it.

I need to see a trailer before I figure out some way to get JLA. I have a Target up here but it's a 30 minute drive away. I checked their website a week ago and it wasn't even there. I'm assuming you can only get it by actually setting foot in a Target store? You can't even order it?
