I just got DirectTV installed on my new house and I must say I am very impressed.
My wife is now listening to channel 806 to get her fill of Christmas music!
The picture quality is so much more detailed (signal strength of 100 on my RCA receiver) on my 27" Sony XBR than I have ever seen. There is a beautiful 3D quality to it - lots of depth!
The equipment after rebates is essentially free and it costs the same as my previously horrible no-service AT&T Broadband cable.
If you are thinking about going satellite, do it!
