Yah, I'd pick up the current releases. They're both good. Probably better than the so-so Paramount box set.

Plus they're pretty cheap by now. DeepDiscountDVD.com has them for around 7 and 8 dollars.

The Jason X DVD is techincally not uncut, but the trims are so slight that you won't notice.

The DVD's are great. I've had them since release day and the transfer on Jason X is still top notch.

Anyone know if "New Line" has any plans to re-release either or both of these movies

All I know is that they re-released them along with a lot of their catalog titles in AMARY cases. I bought both of them in those case along with the Friday the 13th Crystal Lake Box set in October of last year.
