Are you guys arguing for or against raig’s age in the beginning.?

It's my stance that Craig's age worked for where Bond was in his career in Casino Royale.

Early 30's... that would have worked, too.

Early 20's... it just would have been impossible for him to have left University (age 22) then had a full career in the Royal Navy. The numbers just don't work...

Against. He was presented as being green both in life and work, which shouldn't really be the case if you're pushing 40.

I didn’t really have an issue with Craig’s age because it didn’t read any particular way to me. If you would have said “he’s 28” I’d buy it. If you said “38,” I’d take that too. To me, the point was that he was new at that job and inexperienced at that job. And as for young, his boss was Judi Dench so by comparison to the people running the in institution, he was young.

I just care about what the story does with the points it brings up. I can accept Craig being a young agent in Casino Royale much easier than DeNiro as a guy in his 20s and 30s in The Irishman!

I looked it up - in order to become a Commander in the Royal Navy you have to have between 15-17 years of Naval service, and that would have started after attending University.

Craig's age was exactly what it needed to be.

Eh. It’s called acting and it’s a movie so you suspend this belief as it isn’t that big a thing within this universe.

Yes, you see it when M is typing his obituary at the beginning of Skyfall...



You can certainly make him NOT a Commander and go that route, but then you're fundamentally changing the character, and that's not good either.

You kind of have to pick one - do you want him in his early 20's and not have his character's history, or do you want him in his 30's and have him be as the good lord Fleming intended, because the numbers just don't work to have him be both...

I was hoping and saving $ for the bond films on UHd Blu Ray. I’ve seen them in 4K on prime and they are fantastic.

I hope they do come in July.

I have the Craig UHd Blu Ray set. I bought it strictly to support future releases. I did watch a few minutes of Quantum and it looks good. the Craig films I do not watch often.

Fox doesn’t exist anymore, so probably not. Disney now owns them, and the Fox home video department has been completely absorbed by Disney. The Fox home video staff was laid off.

I don’t think Disney is likely to take on a deal distributing MGM’s physical media. The catalog doesn’t fit with their branding and they’re also probably looking to reduce rather than increase their physical media output.

Im wrong. Universal owns home video rights for the non Craig 007 films and no time to die. maybe in July the rest will be released??
