I'm putting the 4K Dean's in the BR digibooks and the old BR discs in these far less impressive 4K cases.

Question for those more knowledgeable about this film: was the overture used in home video releases and the TCM showing of the new restoration (which sounds a lot like the music heard in the film’s trailer) part of the film’s original release or was it added later on like the overture on King Kong?

I guess we will see a James Dean 4K package with the 3 films at some point?
One is coming in France.

I made the following post in the Warner Archive Announcement thread:

Last night, after receiving another email that indicated that Rio Bravo and East of Eden 4K/UHD release date has changed again from July 18th to August 1st, I did my usual checking around other retailers. Movie Zyng, Best Buy and Deep Discount have noted the same release date change. Last week, Amazon changed the release date from July 18th to August 1st. About 24 hours later, it changed it back to July 18th. Now, it's changed again to August 1st.

As to Land of the Pharaohs, Movie Zyng like Amazon has changed the release date from June 27th to July 18th. Deep Discount and Best Buy are still showing June 27th. I tend to believe that Amazon and Movie Zyng might be right because Movie Zyng is closely associated with Warner.

I wonder if these release date delays are due to some manufacturing issues that produce the discs? Obviously, the work has been done on the films as we've seen what was shown on TCM and HBO Max/Max.

Possibly still July 18th for digital. Historically when a disc date slips, the digital release still occurs on the original date, however the studio can intervene and force digital retailers to comply with the new release date.

Warner's updated press release clearly states that the digital 4K release has also moved to 8/1.

True, but I was just saying, historically digital retailers have failed to comply with those edicts, and still release on the original date. We’ll see on the 18th.
