Yup, my HD digital upgraded to 4K/DV.Not any more.
Both films are still in 4K/Dolby Vision in my iTunes digital library.48 hrs later, another 48 hrs is in HD.
Where did you purchase your HD digital? I purchased mine from iTunes and it received the free 4K upgrade. Not bad for $4.99.The streaming version I own is in HD, but I can purchase the 4K version. I've never had that happen before.
That digital upgraded to 4K without any HDR back in 2020. It's been $4.99 at least a couple of times since then including just last month. It still has no HDR.It Happened One Night is in 4K on iTunes, and is currently on sale for $4.99.
Theoretically HDR should get added when the Columbia Classics Box 3 comes out, but there’s no guarantee, as Sony’s Guns of Navarone never got HDR added to the digital when the Disc (with HDR) came out. That digital upgraded to 4K without any HDR back in 2020. Yup, I'm buying the boxset anyhow, but I have most of those Columbia titles in my iTunes digital library.Theoretically HDR should get added when the Columbia Classics Box 3 comes out, but there’s no guarantee, as Sony’s Guns of Navarone never got HDR added to the digital when the Disc (with HDR) came out.
I bought the digital, hoping for a HDR upgrade (as happened with Lawrence of Arabia). I didn't buy the first two UHD boxsets, and don't plan on buying the third, either.Yup, I'm buying the boxset anyhow, but I have most of those Columbia titles in my iTunes digital library.
Hey, we all have different priorities when it comes to our film tastes and how we spend our discretionary monies.I bought the digital, hoping for a HDR upgrade (as happened with Lawrence of Arabia). I didn't buy the first two UHD boxsets, and don't plan on buying the third, either.
Definitely. My reply wasn't intended as a criticism, just an explanation of why I bought the digital.Hey, we all have different priorities when it comes to our film tastes and how we spend our discretionary monies.
I'm still waiting for Stripes to upgrade to 4K and Looper to get HDR, among others.Theoretically HDR should get added when the Columbia Classics Box 3 comes out, but there’s no guarantee, as Sony’s Guns of Navarone never got HDR added to the digital when the Disc (with HDR) came out.
Stripes shows up as 4K w/ Dolby Vision in my iTunes library.I'm still waiting for Stripes to upgrade to 4K and Looper to get HDR, among others.
I have the longer cut on iTunes. My Stripes theatrical is HD
my Stripes Longer is 4K w DV
If the extended cut is considered a bonus feature, then that is why it is only HD on iTunes.Jurassic Park extended version is in HD only on iTunes . VUDU has the extended version in 4K HDR. What's up with iTunes?
