I have a 6 year-old Toshiba TW40x81 which is supposed to do 480i, 480p, and 1080i. What kind of HD picture can I expect from a 360 and would I have to select the resolution or does the 360 do the homework for me?

I'm using one of the colorstream HD inputs for my DVD player but the second one is free.

Resolution output will depend on the game. It seems like the majority are supporting 720p max, so you might have to settle for 480p for most games. If the settings are similar to the original XBox, there is a setting that will allow you to exclude resolutions. For example, since your display doesn't do 720p, you would set that to "No" in the XBox display settings.

Guo Xiong - That is completely incorrect.

All 360 games support 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i. You just push a switch on the cables and set the resolution on the Xbox 360 dashboard, it's easy as pie. If you have a pc monitor input on your HDTV you can buy a cable that will give you several choices of resolutions to match your particular HDTVs output resolution.

I have a 360 and a RCA HDTV that does not support 720p and the image quality in 1080i is amazing.

Well, not completely. What I said about the original XBox is accurate. :)

AS long as I can play in 1080i and it looks good, I'll be happy. Thanks. :)

All I have are 2 sets of component, three composite, a couple of s-video and coax.
