I have this TV and the convergence circuit is gone and the cost to fix it to me is not worth it. ($700) So my question is how or what should I do with it. Fix it then sell it for about what it cost to fix it? Dont fix it and then donate it. What have others on this forum done in this type of situation.

I want to purchase a Samsung 50" DLP to replace it. I currently have the 56" in my home theater and am very pleased with its performance.

It's possible you could get $800 for an older 4:3 HDTV w/ no warranty, but doubtful. Maybe see if you can find anyone interested before you comit to having it fixed and go from there. If not i'd chalk it up as a loss.

If you have a dedicated HT room and ligh control isn't an issue why not move the 56" DLP out and put a front projector in your HT room??
