What are your recommendations for the best progressive-scan player under $400?

I've looked at reviews from the $200 JVCs and above, but can't seem to find a definitive good/bad comparison.

thanks in advance

Under 400, go with the panny rp56 around 250...If you can go to about 450 take a look at the panasonic rp91...

Panasonic RP56 = awesome. But one yesterday at Best Buy for $216.99.

Lots of good, useful features. The best chip inside. Reviews say it's as good as players 3x the cost!

I'm happy! Especially after listening to my new STing DTS 5.1 Brand New Day album! 5-channel stereo ROCKS!

Satya, along with the Panasonic DVD-RP56, people seem to speak highly of the Toshiba SD-4700 ($250) and SD-5700 ($300). The Toshiba players play DVD-Audio discs too. If you live in the US, Best Buy sells the '4700 (and the Panasonic unit).
