Yeah, I know this movie is very cheesy at times. However, I like this movie because it's one of Christian Slater's first lead roles in a movie. Additionally, it captures that time in history, the late 1980s, when skateboarding is insanely popular. Who remembers those Tony Hawk stickers?

I wonder if Artisan will release this movie in anamorphic widescreen, instead of it's current pan&scan release?

Anybody else enjoy this movie?

No. Mike McGill performed the stunts for Christian Slater. I "enjoyed" the movie, too. Quotes, because I'm a sucker that will see anything with skating or surfing in it. ("cough" Blue crhienvc... "cough"). Actually, it was a satisfying movie with the crime element in it. Not enough real skating, though.
It would be fun to see this again. Now, if they could just release the first, oh, 3 or more Powell Peralta videos on DVD, please, along with H Street's Hokus Pokus, (perhaps Shackle Me Not as well?) and Plan B's Mike Ternasky videos, (unquestionable, virtual reality, and second hand smoke...), aw hell, throw in Spike Jones' (yes, that Spike Jones') Girl videos, We'll be getting somewhere...:D

This movie was OK. The best thing about it is that it has a great porn movie title. In fact, I'm gleaming the cube right now. :D

Kevin is right in that there is not much skating in this one. I remember being disappointed in this when I first saw it. But I recall Tony Hawk had a good moment in this one.

A better movie, although with bikes not skateboards, was Rad. This was made a few years earlier than Cube but I thought it was much more entertaining.

I liked this movie under a different title: A Brother's Justice. It took my girlfriend and I a while to realize we had both seen the same Christian Slater vigilante skateboarder movie, but under different titles.

A better movie, although with bikes not skateboards, was Rad.
If either of these were $5 titles at Wal-Mart I wouldn't hesitate to pick them up.

I doubt you'll find Gleaming the Cube at all, let alone for $5. I believe Artisan stopped making it, so it's become a rare find. Check out the prices in the link below for used copies. Additionally, keep in mind, this is pan/scan. Unreal.
