I have two Sony CDP-CA80ES five-disc carousel CD changers for sale that I rarely use. You may buy just one of them if you like. Here are descriptions:
Player 1: This 'CA80ES is in my main system, and I bought it from Tweeter in May 2000. It is in perfect condition in every way and has performed flawlessly. It comes complete with the original box, remote, and owner's manual. Price: $225 + $30 for shipping and handling.
Player 2: This 'CA80ES is in my second system, and I bought it from J&R Music World in November 2000. It is fully operational, but I must explain one issue. I recently moved. When the movers were bringing my belongings from the truck into my new house, one of the movers wanted to move this 'CA80ES, which was on the floor and packed up in its original box, to make room on the floor for more large boxes. He picked up the 'CA80ES box, walked a few steps to the corner of the room, and then dropped it on the floor. When I unpacked the 'CA80ES, I found that an anti-vibration plate that was attached to the inside of the chassis top came loose. I removed the lid of the 'CA80ES by removing screws with a screwdriver to remove the anti-vibration plate from the inside of the player and replaced the top. The player works absolutely perfectly.
Although the player was dropped, there was no damage suffered to the carousel, laser mechanism, or any other parts related to CD playback, so I have not experienced any skipping whatsoever or any other problems. Furthermore, the player sounds exactly as it did before it was dropped. The only thing I notice that is different now, and this is because I have another 'CA80ES with the anti-vibration plate in place, is that the top of the player that was dropped feels a bit thinner since the anti-vibration plate is not in place.
This player will come complete with the original box, remote, and owner's manual. In addition, I will send you the anti-vibration plate, should you want to reinstall it. Price: $150 + $30 shipping and handling.
I can only accept a cashiers check or money order at present. I will ship both players double-boxed. Feel free to ask me any questions. Also, if you are interested, I have a perfect rating on eBay under the moniker, "9fold". My eBay rating number is 79. Thanks for reading.
