As for some additional background... In a really outrageous "outdoor home theater" I recently set up, we basically had stadium concert capabilities at about 20-40' from the screen down to 21-23Hz. With the sub a little hot and shelved up down to 35Hz, and the mains properly calibrated, I caught myself cranking up the scenes from both Blue Crush and Open Range to as high as -5dB!!!

Fortunately the system had the headroom to deliver this without distress or overloading.

the best i've heard for working ALL speakers is Blade 2.

another favorite is the "unleash hell" scene from Gladiator.
