. Everything you read about her was an understatement. OMG, she tore it up. No way I would have though that the most powerful film moment of '06 would come from this film.

I liked it but Jennifer Hudson will always be second place to seeing Jennifer Holliday in that role.

yeah Murphy was robbed, the scene where he's tapping and cutting the coke and Anika Noni says something to him, but he just looks up at her, no lines, but all the emotion, and speechifying is simply conveyed by his eyes, everything about his character in that one moment. Murphy really delivered on giving a tremendous performance, and shows what a truly skilled actor he is, despite the tendancy of cineastes to dismiss him because he does 'easy' comedic roles. :rolleyes
