I am curious if there is a DIY screen using just paint and a frame that will provide as good of a picture as a thousand dollar screen? What is the least expensive way to achieve a high quality screen. The projector I am looking at is the Sharpvision 12000 DLP projector.

That'll give you some ideas...although I don't think I'd skimp on the last $1,000 if my PJ was that expensive...the screen and room are as important as the projector. Also be aware the you can purchase the raw screen material from many manufacturers through AVS saving lots by making your own frame.

I'm still using a stretched piece of blackout cloth ($20) with my IF 4805...nice pic.
