I apologize if there is already a list existing somewhere, but I would really like to compile a complete listing of all DVDs that are out of print that I can take with me shopping. I would like to avoid listing titles that have been replaced with newer better versions (i.e. Pulp Fiction, Willie Wonka, etc..) unless there is merit in having the original version. I will start the list and edit this first post as titles are suggested.

"Abyss, The (2 Disc)"

Just saw 12 copies of this at besy buy. They seem to hold onto big lots until they go OOP and then restock. At least that what they did for Dances With Wolves with the DTS. May be it's a coincidence.

I see lots of the 2 disc Abyss sets around still as well as Independence Day. I remember reading that the Mummy Ultimate edition was as well, is this true?

The original US DVD issue of (Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, and Howe's) "ABWH - An Evening of Yes Music" has been OOP for some time and has been fetching $180 on eBay. It has apparently also been issued as an international Region 0 release, but I don't know how the quality is or if there are other differences.

According to the Image Entertainment web site, there are 2336 oop DVD titles that they can show on 102 pages. I guess you could print them all but it would be time and paper consuming.

I had no idea that there were that many OOP titles. Let's refine to the list to MAJOR titles. I'll define MAJOR as titles that were readily available at most major B&Ms (Borders, Suncoast, Best Buy, etc..) or titles that have a signifigant collector's value.

Hard Boiled & The Killer (Winstar) are being replaced by Disney's dub-only butchered versions

Weird Al: The Videos is not OOP, it just was switched from Snapper to keepcase packaging

That number includes many titles that (1) have merely switched studios (so the Baby Einstein titles all are listed, even though they never left the catalog), (2) had various promotional packaging, such as dealer pre-packs, and (3) older titles that have been replaced by new editions. The Image web site still is of immense value, of course; there's just a lot of chaff to sort through.

Swamp Thing containing the international unrated version of the film while the packaging/disc indicated it was the PG version is now OOP.

whoops... I meant 'Monty Python's Meaning of Life (Image) in my last post... not 'Life of Brian' (which is still in print).
Minor slip :)

The Ultimate Toy Box is still in print as far as I know.

Here are two that aren't:

They Live (Image)

Mask (1985) (Image) - Another Image title licensed from Universal that is OOP.

Rambling Rose - I believe the original Pioneer version is OOP and had been replaced by an inferior P&S version.
