Looking at all these combined lists again, there is no doubt now that my list is within the best looking & fantastic combined list #8
:D. I completely agree with my partner's choices.

As I said, at this point, if you have any combined list you'd like to see, just let me know. Also, I'd be interested in anyone's opinion about the accuracy, or lack thereof, of the lists I've created.

Sorry I missed those over the week end, it wasn't lack of interest.

I can't speak for the others, since I didn't know all the other lists, but the lists I was involved with seemed pretty acurate.

One thing I'd like to see is a combined list of all the lists sent to you, Sight and Sound style. Can you do that with your method? If it's too much work, never mind :)

I'd like to see a list of the #1 film on everyone's list.

I'd also still like to see the individual top 10 lists, which of course would obviate my first request.

I’ll post my entire list Angelo, as I just put this together in a real hurry and it is not precisely ordered. Were I to do this again, I’d not be surprised to see some films move by 25 places.

I quit at 150, but I could easily add another 50 films that I would give my highest rating. Of course I’ve got numerous more that I love, but that just miss ‘masterpiece’ status. Perhaps I’m just an easy grader.

I sent a list to George, partly as an exercise in putting together a top 50 list. I haven't really been participating because looking at the lists it became readily apparent that there were only a few individuals that I could identify ( George The Apartment and Steve The Third Man ).

I'll be happy to post the list that I PM'd George, but I'd like to wait until George gives the 'okay'.

I certainly have no problem with anyone posting any or all of their list. I see no reason not to post everyone's top film, and I think I can put all 14 together S&S style, though it will be an approximation since the lists are different lengths. Again I might have to do that a couple of ways.

The top films:

The Apartment
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
The Usual Suspects
Pulp Fiction
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
The Passion of Joan of Arc (2)
Rushmore
Taxi Driver
The Third Man
The Godfather
The Breakfast Club
The 400 Blows
Chariots of Fire

If it's not a problem, george, you can put my list up, the one I sent ya.

I think The Godfather Part II was a dead giveaway in a lot of this. :)

Here's my list. I decided to only use one film per director so it isn't a true top list I suppose, but I like more variance. Also its flawed in somehow leaving off Bunuel, but I didn't feel like going back and putting him in and then having to renumber everything. :b

george: you can post my (comparatively low-brow) list, as I can't seem to find a copy of it (!).

Brook: :emoji_thumbsup: for Ikiru and Tokyo Story in the top 10. Great list all around.

Here is my list, with another 50 that could have easily made the top 50 list. I really haven't tried to create a definitive top list, as it is damn hard. This list is mostly based upon 1) Level of enjoyment and 2) Frequency of viewing. There are some great films that I admire that are not on this list, in some cases because they are not as emotionally resonant, and many notable ones that simply aren't part of my film experience ( at least yet ). With those disclaimers stated, here is the list...

Chariots of Fire
2001: A Space Odyssey
Once Upon A Time In The West
A Clockwork Orange
Dr. Strangelove
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
The English Patient
The Right Stuff
Cool Hand Luke
Miller's Crossing

Harvey
Some Like It Hot
Blade Runner
It's A Wonderful Life
Pulp Fiction
Hud
Citizen Kane
Taxi Driver

Rebecca
Brief Encounter
The Big Sleep (1946)
The Big Country
The Big Heat
Say Anything
A River Runs Through It
Unfaithfully Yours
Roman Holiday
Gilda
The General (1927)

50 that could've made the list -

A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Almost Famous
An American In Paris
Being There
Blue (Three Colors)
Bringing Up Baby
Casablanca
City Lights
Double Indemnity
Force of Evil
Goldfinger
In A Lonely Place

Wow, if I have to choose a list other than mine (who cares?) :D, I would pick Lew's list. :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: It is better than mine :D, I love it! I also like Brook and Cary's lists. :emoji_thumbsup: I'm surprised with the lack of foreign films in Walter's list. It looks like his list is a collaboration with George. j/k. :)
