I'm especially interested in whether Candleshoe got a new transfer or not. Details are pretty sketchy, and while UltimateDisney.com says this is anamorphic, I'd like to know for sure.

Oops, the last time I looked at UD they didn't have the disc in hand, or I missed the review somehow. They only had specs, which change...

Considering that The Great Locomotive Chase was simply a port of the previous Anchor Bay dvd, I had no intention of rebuying Candleshoe. But if those reviews are correct, then Candleshoe is an improvement, and Disney will get extra cash from me.

That was my fear, George, and I'm glad it was unfounded. I'm also happy they got Foster to participate on Freaky Friday. I hope that the reissues of Napoleon and Samantha and One Little Indian are new transfers, but I'm not holding my breath.

Speaking of Foster, I hope Warner (or whoever has it now) gets around to releasing the musical Tom Sawyer, and we get a legit release of Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane.

The musical Tom Sawyer was a UA release, and therefore still under MGM's control.

I'm wondering why some ex-Anchor Bay titles get remastered, but not others.
