8 ft throw distance (1 Viewer)

Would a projector be worth this short distance I want the biggest possible pic. right now have a 51" ws hdtv. I wiouod like better. any help would be great!!

my bidget would be between 1500-2500. Thanks hope that helps. I was looking at the sanyo z1. panasonic ae200. sony hs10. to give an idea.

The Sony HS10 which goes for around US$2300, beats the other 2 projectors when it comes to resolution and brightness. At 1366x768 native resolution and 1000 a.l., the Sanyo is 964x544 & 700 a.l. and the Panasonic is 858x484 & 700 a.l.

I will have to search the HS-10 throw charts to see what screensize you could get from 8ft but we have a few members here that have the unit already.

Here is the formula for screensize. I plugged in the numbers and worked backwards...

Maximum 16x9 screensize from 8ft was 64". Minimum was 53". It is a fairy long throw projector.
