Does anyone know what happened to the Onkyo TX-NR1000? It was supposed to be released in April, but I don't think it's available anywhere yet. Any info?
Now that there are at least two companies offering products with iLink (firewire) inputs/outputs for transmission of high quality audio (DVD-Audio & SACD) Pioneer and Sony, does anyone know if there's a standard protocol they use or are the interfaces proprietary? Could I connect Pioneer...
Is it just me or did Columbia have some wicked sense of irony and the subtitles on the new Burnt by the Sun DVD are actually of the burned-in variety and can't be turned off? I was also disappointed that they chose not to enhance it for 16x9. My first (granted, somewhat superficial as I haven't...
A friend of mine has PSB 1000 floorstanding speakers he bought about 5-6 years ago. He is looking into expanding his stereo setup into HT, so he is asking what center channel speaker would be a good match. Also, there appears to be a very small dent in the tweeter, but he didn't hear it and...
This is a 4 year old receiver in good working order. What I still have: the original box (although some of the packing foam pieces are broken), remote control (unused), manual. What I don't have: either AM or FM antenna. Price: $800 OBO.
I noticed that Rapid Fire (with Brandon Lee) is slated for release on May 21. Seeing how it's MSRP is $14.95 I fear it may be another Fox "Special Edition" release. (The release of Silent Trigger had a P&S transfer listed as a special feature). Does anyone know for sure?
As I haven't seen this movie theatrically I don't know whether the bluish tint throughout the DVD is director's intention or a sign of a bad transfer. Any info would be appreciated.

Can someone tell me how the scaling deals with the non-anamorphic letterbox titles with subtitles in the "black bar" area? I'm interesed in both player-generated subtitles (Andrei Rublev, Criterion) and "burned-in" ones (the original edition of "The Last of the Mohicans".
Thanks,
Dmitry.
I read all I could find about disabling red push on Sony WEGA TVs. I have successfully done that on a friend's FS12. However I can't find the AXPL setting in the service menu of my XBR400 — does anybody know what the setting is?
Moderators, if this doesn't seem to fit here please move to the DBS area.
Everybody, please excuse the stupidity of the question
I have a dual LNB dish and two wires running from it. Actually there's a whole bunch of wires coming out of the wall but only two of them are coming from the dish...
