I thought it might be a good idea to post our latest purchases and maybe a picture or two:

iron butterfly.jpg I got this for myself for Christmas. Cut from the original analog master, the vinyl itself is psychedelic splatter colored. I still owe some pictures so I'll include one of the vinyl this weekend.

About 98% of my vinyl purchasing is used/original vinyl. Other than the occasional RSD releases I don't have much interest in re-repurchasing titles I've got on vinyl (sometimes multiple copies) AND CD. These were all purchased for $1 each at a recent record show.

All I have left is Shopping Bag to complete my Partridge Family vinyl collection; my first Carpenters vinyl LP; I've gotten almost all the classic Herb Alpert LPs so it's time to start on Sergio Mendes; the Cock Robin single is an incredible 80's pop song with a great solo by David Sanborn.

Does used vinyl count?
I got these both from eBay in the past few months:
Lonnie Mack: Whatever's Right
Unfortunately, Lonnie passed away in 2016:

Paul Williams: Ordinary Fool

All I have left is Shopping Bag to complete my Partridge Family vinyl collection;
Sound Magazine is my favorite, but Shopping Bag is great, too. I got an almost complete collection cheap at a record store about 20 years ago. Bulletin Board was a little harder to find (but worth the effort).

Oingo Boingo, Dead Man's Party - staring at me in my local record store with a very cool cover; I know a bit of their music and it still amazes me that their front man is the same guy who composed the Simpsons theme and the music scores for virtually every Tim Burton film. The most famous track on the album is Weird Science (from the brat pack film of the same name):
