X1 & upconverting DVD player (1 Viewer)

Is anyone using an upconverting DVD player with X1? I'm currently using a Philips Q50(with Faroudja) DVD player hooked up to VGA/component of X1, and was wondering if a player such as the Zenith DVB318 would improve the image? I do know the image looks great on X1 with 720p & 1080i HD. Thanks for any advice.

I seem to recall that there were some issues using the DV318 in 480p mode with the X1 that cleared up when switched to 1080i.

I saw a huge difference using that player with my X1, even though the X1 is only SVGA.

But this was going from an old 480i DVD player. If you were going from a good Faroudja player like the one you have, the difference may be less
