I've been to several stores in the Pittsburgh area and just can't seem to find this, despite its announced release date of 11/06. Is this a brick and mortar thing? Did this get delayed? It seems to be available at online stores...

This seems to be a trend with Best Buy for older movies that were not considered a big hit. I suggest you try Borders. They have a very good selection, but fewer copies of each title. Their prices are very competitive with Best Buy and Circuit City, also.

You didn't state which B&M stores you tried, so for what it's worth, the OKC Best Buy I was in last night had it.

The Best Buy stores in Omaha are hip-deep in them... :)

Saw it at my local Best Buy on Tuesday and just saw a TON of 'em at Costco a few minutes ago.
Unfortunately, I'm in the OTHER boat. I ordered mine from DDD early last week and have yet to receive a shipment notice.

At first, I couldn't find Empire of the Sun or Doctor Zhivago at my local Circuit City. Neither were in the "New Releases" area.
So, I took a look over in the "Drama" area, and both were to be found. It seems my Circuit City has a habit of putting titles they don't consider "big sellers" in their corresponding genre instead of in the "New Releases" area.

CC generally gets about 2 copies of a classic into their stock. They then stick them in with the rest of the back catalog
