I'd have to say:

"Which is better...blah blah blah?"

anything asking to compare Monster to "blank" cable/wires

"Optical or Coax?"

the list is endless as of late...

I realize some people are new, or are getting into something new and need help, I'm glad to help out, BUT what happened to searching FAQ's or doing searches?

Seems there's an endless stream of the same ol' questions month after month...or is it just me growing tired of seeing the same posts or variations on them??

Not usually phrased as a question, but...

"Has anyone else stopped seeing movies in the theater?"

  • What Artur said re: Evil Dead (can also substitute "Halloween" in same question).
  • Problems with Jurassic Park DTS.
  • Which is better DTS or DD?
  • When is "Band of Brothers" out on DVD (now answered, thankfully)
  • Where does everyone buy their DVD's?
Parker should program the Forum such that if you've been a member for less than 3 months, everytime you post a new thread a pop-up asks "Have you used 'Search' to see if a thread on this subject already exists?"

Best sound.

Obviously, a movie like LOTR is going to have a state-of-the-art soundtrack. But less obviously are the many 1.0 and 2.0 tracks, which are labeled as "big fat mono," which are reference quality.

It's impossible for mono to be reference because it's not 5.1. Isn't that extremely dumb? Why don't we take off points of B&W films for being too desaturated in color?

Which Speakers (or Subwoofer) are best?

These questions are repeated due to the never ending turnover of new people to the forum, many who are just getting into Home Theater, so we should try to be helpful and patient!

"Why don't the moderators change the name of Polls to Tournaments", followed by lots of unnecessary bitching. :frowning:

"Why is Movie X* so 'overrated' by the HTF membership?"
* movie X is usually Fight Club, Citizen Kane, 2001: A Space Odyssey, or Lawrence of Arabia. Oddly enough, four movies that deserve every bit of praise they've earned.
"What are your favorite DVD sites?"
"Why is Scott Weinberg such a goddam weenie?"
"What is Movie X* coming out on Dvd?"
* Movie X = Star Wars, Back to the Future, Grease, Miller's Crossing, Popeye ;)
"Is Showgirls okay for a 7-year-old?"
"Why do the Simpsons sets come out so slowly?"
"Who here is gay?"
"What's the capital of Uruguay?"
"Does it have DTS?"
"Is there a Special Edition of Movie x coming out any time soon?"
* Movie x is usually one that just had a SE released last month.
"Why has my post count gone from 6,400 to 5,900 over the last few weeks?"
"Will the WTC trailer be included on the Spider-Man DVD?"
"Did you guys see Gollum inside the eye of that big statue?" :)
"On the "Itchy & Scratchy" CD-ROM, is there a way to get out of the dungeon without using the wizard key?"

After reading a thread, something that really bugs me every time there a thread on Lion King or Atlantis.

"I like Lion King or Atlantis better when they were Kimba the White Lion and Naya the Blue Lagoon".

Sorry, but disprite you say that Disney rip them off, I happen to LIKE Lion King and Atlandtis a lot and it just bugs me to hear this every time someone make a thread on them.
