Hey Guys,

What's your favorite music from a movie? Not necessarly the score as a whole, could be just a piece.

My favorites are (in this order)

1. That song from the end of Last of the Mohicans

2. Love song from Braveheard

3. Duel of the Fates (Episode I)

4. The music in FOTR

Superman: The Movie - Main title theme(Some of John Williams' best work, IMO.)

North By Northwest - Overture (One of Bernard Herrmann's best scores)

Vertigo - Main theme (Again, more of Herrmann's great scoring.)

Lawrence of Arabia - Lawrence's theme music (Maurice Jarre's best work!)

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure - Main theme (Danny Elfman's best work.)

Shrek (Harry Gregson-Williams deserved an Oscar nomination for this score!)

Also, there was fantastic theme song recorded for Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. It's basically a "rock" version complete with backup singers! The braindead focus groups (who along with Grammercy execs) forced Best Brains to make the movie less "obscure" and more like a regular movie. This theme was dropped in favor of a instrumental low-key version played under the opening credits. The entire track (sans vocals) can be heard under the the closing credits.

Just about all of John Barry's work.

His early Bond pieces are excellent, but Midnight Cowboy is simply amazing.

The Ecstacy of Gold, from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by Ennio Morricone
It's the music from near the end when Tuco runs around the graveyard. Pure musical bliss...
