First time I have watched a non-anamorphic dvd in the bedroom on the 27" Wega was last night.

Background-

My Toshiba dvd player is set to 16:9 TV. Normally I put in an anamorphic dvd and squeeze.

For non-anamorphic dvds I was under the assumption that I would have to change the dvd setting back to 4:3 TV.

I did not change the setting and the dvd looked fine to me. I tested by squeezing a dvd with the same aspect ratio. Is this correct? Much easier if so, not having to change the dvd player setting.

Now, if this tv would just squeeze automatically!!

Thanks for the help.

This is normal. If the disk is non-anamorphic, it displays in the normal manner, so you do not need to change the setting of your player.
