I have a Sony tv, Sony receiver, Sony BR, and a Sony soundbar. I' m not sure the systems are setup correctly. I hear music great when a movie is playing, but spoken words are faint. In fact, the music over powers the dialog. Any idea what I have done wrong?

How are you connecting a self-powered soundbar to an AVR?

I'm not sure. I bought the sound bar hoping that it wouald improve the center sound. Should I unplug it?

Let's backtrack a tad.How is the BD player hooked up...what else is there(cable/sat)...and what actual speakers?

Ditch the sound bar, buy a set of speakers (left/center/right/2 surrounds and a powered subwoofer) Read and follow the speaker and source device connection and speaker setup sections in the owner's manual that came with the AVR.

Self-powered sound bars and AVRs are an either/or proposition, not meant for simultaneous use.
