Dear Warner Home Video,
Please release THE GUMBALL RALLY (1976) to DVD in it's original widescreen ratio. This is by far the best of the cross-country road race films that emerged in the mid 70's to 80's. There are great cars, goofy humour, a likable cast... It's just a really fun movie, a good time, and I've pretty much worn out my pan 'n' scan VHS anyways, so please HTF, show your support for this nutty road comedy which I feel is the best of it's genre. Thanks.
Johnny B.

I would buy a copy of The Gumball Rally in OAR.
I already have:
  • [*]The Cannonball Run[*]The Cannonball Run II[*]Smokey and the Bandit[*]Stroker Ace
(Okay, so I like Hal Needham/Burt Reynolds collaborations!)
Anyway, I'd like the original fast-cars-across-the-country film...bring on Gumball!

Gumball!
Just to have Raul Julia talking about the virtues of a rear-view mirror would make this disc priceless.
It also has one of the best final scenes in film, IMO.
"Gumball."
God, I love this film.

Warner released a widescreen laserdisc in 1998, just as laserdiscs were becoming increasingly more difficult to find at local retailers. I never did track it down. So yes, a dvd release would be nice. And remember: What's behind me is not important.

Yes yes. The original Gumball Rally.
NOT the Gumball 3000
NOT the USA: Cannonball
NOT any of those pretenders.
The Original. Here's all you need to know...
2300 miles in 34h:11m.

Reviving an old thread here,
a brilliant film, still not on dvd :frowning:
Please think about releasing this one ,it does indeed make all the other films of this type look poor in comparison.
