ok i have a few ideas but i really would like to hear from some of you on this.

i would like to keep the price to about 400.00 bucks....

It's best to have your center be the same brand and model line of your front speakers. If that doesn't work then another speaker in that model line, either a bookshelf or another speaker that is the same as your fronts.
