Right now, at 30Hz (which is where I think I am), I am having absolutely no problems with my display.

How you connected your Mac to JU7500? Using the HDMI native port?

Lightning port on back of iMac -> lightning to HDM adapter -> display

That adapter STILL IS NOT going to give you any more resolution than what you have now. It -might- give you a better refresh rate but you are going to have the EXACT same number of pixels.
