that's the version from 1946, I'm talking about the movie from 1984 with Henry Thomas in it
So was I. Since it didn't give the date, I was just assuming it was the '84 flick. :frowning: Guess the "and" instead of the ampersand was a dead giveaway.

Still no mention of the commentary track on Winchester 73 :frowning:

I’ll be keeping hold of the LD on this one I reckon.

Let's hope the Jimmy Stewart commentary track from the WInchester '73 LD is included
I checked out the back of the keepcase of this DVD this afternoon. NO Commentary was indicated anywhere that I could see. One of the special features indicated was an interview with Stewart.

Ron's review of Winchester 73 would normally mean it's a film I would pass on (I was extremely disappointed with the transfer of The Shop Around The Corner, and the less said about The Quiet Man the better). But the James Stewart interview/commentary means that even as I type, the disk is making its way across the Atlantic.

Looking forward to it.

I had expected to click on Interview with
James Stewart to see some sort of early
videotaped segment featuring the actor. Instead,
the film simply began playing and I found myself
listening to what appeared to be a running
commentary interview with the actor that must
have been done prior to his death in 1997.
It would have been nice if this was made more readily apparent. The cover art info is misleading IMHO.

Well, at least the interview with Stewart is present on the dvd. I enjoyed listening to it this afternoon while watching the dvd again.
