Ultra Linear (2 Viewers)

Can I have some opinions on these speakers.
Ultra Linear
Right now I have a pair of JVC SK-404(C) 's from heck the 80's maybe. They still sound ok but one tweeters is shot and the box don't look too great anymore.
The reason I ask is that a I can get those ultra linear for cheap.

these belong to what's commonly referred to 'white van speakers' and i'd urge you to stay away from them. run a google search under Ultralinear and "white van".

Martin,

The old addage you get what you pay for most of the time
rings true in the audio world.. And if it seems too good
to be true it usually is..

No one on these forums or very few have ever heard of
Ultra Linear and that is probably for good reason. I
just don't think these are good speakers or someone
here would know about them.

If you want to look at "Affordable" instead of "cheap"
speakers please look at offerings from Acoustic Reseach,
JBL, Polk Audio, Axiom, PSB, Home Theater Direct and there
are many others which make great speakers at affordable
prices.

I am big into car audio, so I do know where you guys are coming from.

I don't buy legacy amps!

I am just not to familiar with alot of home audio speakers.

I think I might build my own.

Between partsexpress/adireaudio/spearkercity I'll do alright!

Btw I do have a tempest in my car so I know what quality is like!

Actually this speakers are really good. i bought 2 towers and 2 rears and wasn't sure if i made the right choice until i brought them home and hooked them up to my amp. And it sounded real great they are very clear and can be compared to energy speakers. So i think you should go with these speakers.


BTW i did search "white van" Ultralinear on google and came up with nothing

I owned a pair back in the middle 70s and they were not too bad for stereo.I had them in the back of a white van too.Ford Econoline 71 model.
