Just finished watching this interesting 1967 Stanley Donen film, starring Audrey Hepburn & Albert Finney,
which by the way looked pretty good in all its 2:35
Panavision glory. Not much in the way of extras for this
Studio Classics release though. Commentary by Mr. Doyle and a
Theatrical Trailer, Stills Gallery and a Restoration
Comparison. Audio is specified as Stereo and for the most
part sounded clean and undistorted - the Henry Mancini score
having good fidelity - that said it was typical Mancini -
quite nice.
Having never seen this movie all these years I found it to
be "different" - by that I am referring to the wonderful way the story is told through flashbacks of past road trips taken, of course, not being married I quite
naturally would not be able to appreciate certain moments in
the same light but regardless I think viewing it more than
once is a requirement - there is enough in this film's story
line to easily miss first time around.
