I have a toshiba DVD Home Cinema System Model No SD-42HKSY.

Could anyone please tell me if they know if the speakers in this system are magnetically shielded.

Some tips --

1) Making your thread title as specific as possible will assure more reads by the membership. So I retitled your thread accordingly.

2) When asking about specific components (in this case, the speakers that come with a Toshiba HTiB model), please post in the appropriate hardware-related section -- the Basics area is for general discussion at the beginner level.

3) Since those speakers are part of a dedicated home theater-in-a-box package, one would assume that they are magnetically shielded. But I'd at least ask Toshiba's service-department personnel directly to confirm such.
