Westerns and musicals are my two favorite genres. My love for them comes from my parents. Musicals from my mother and westerns from my father. While mom was movie crazy, Dad wasn't much of moviegoer except for westerns. When a new western opened, he went and took me along with him. Narrowing it down to 25 was difficult and a lot of favorites fell by the wayside. The bulk of them are from the 1950s, the Golden Age of the western. There was no way I could rank them so they're listed chronologically. As with all such lists, it's quite personal and feel free to add your own.
