I’m starting to wonder if Johnny has watched any Star Wars before this show.
I have, but I would describe myself as a casual fan. I don’t have much of the canon memorized, specially those of less than leading characters. I haven’t seen any of the animated series. Also, I’m an old fart and my memory has been better.I’m starting to wonder if Johnny has watched any Star Wars before this show.
@Sam Posten I don’t know which part you disagree with, or is it all?In this episode there is this orchestral scream or shriek. It occurred mostly (maybe only) when there was a view of that bleak de-nuded forest. To my ear it is identical to the music that accompanies the spirit of Christmas Future in George C. Scott’s Christmas Carol. It is spot-on.
Tano’s head dress. Is it just that, a head dress or does her species have a head like that? I’ve never been quite sure. Are they all black? I remember one with that head dress in RotJ. I think she was sent to her doom by Jaba the Hut. She was also black. Coincidence or by design?
Well, I wouldn’t define a character with that trait as a good guy.I don’t really see Fett as a good or bad guy. He just serves his interests
Me too to some extent. I do know the names of the players and who they are but when someone says I’m so sad about the Razor Crest, that’s something I have to look up.

What kind of total maniac would care about something like that?Me too to some extent. I do know the names of the players and who they are but when someone says I’m so sad about the Razor Crest, that’s something I have to look up.
Since they haven't mentioned having another guest director like they did with Reed and Rodriguez, I'd guess it's a regular director so either Favreau or Bryce Dallas Howard. Presumably, Favreau was busy writing and producing as they were shooting so that would make it hard for him to direct again so I'll guess Howard. It looks like Rick Famuyima is directing the next episode (he’s listed as writer), but who is directing episode 8? Favreau wrote ep 8, so maybe he is directing too. Filoni is on record as only directing 1 episode this season. There are 7 directors for season 2, with one repeating.
Now there’s a comment you don’t see every day.Was hilarious seeing him force-choke those troopers!
I was more bummed about that than Baby Yoda getting captured. I assume Baby Yoda will be saved in the finale (he damn well better be anyway) but the Razor Crest is done for.
The story gets a big push forward. Lots of action but plenty of stupidity as well.Running along a ridge, framed by the sky, and a "soldier" using a rapid fire weapon cannot manage to figure out to fire ahead and not behind his target. Also, they are taking the stupidity of the Stormtroopers too far. A giant rock rolling toward him and the gunner keeps firing at it until it rolls over him? Really?
Yeah. I would have expected him to be smarter than that, but sometimes desperation makes people do things they might not otherwise do.I thought the rampant dumb was Mando repeatedly running into the "force curtain" around Grogu after he failed the 1st time.
Or that people generally do dumb things in movies and TV shows that people in real life wouldn't do, but again, we're talking about people.Yeah. I would have expected him to be smarter than that, but sometimes desperation makes people do things they might not otherwise do.
Audiences have been conditioned to accept this kind of behavior and results for decades. In my case, several decades. Remember “A New Hope” when R2 and C3PO cross the corridor that is ablaze with with laser fire? It was done for laughs, but illustrates my point. If I had Total Recall (that’s coming tomorrow) I would be able to name hundreds of movies and TV shows that do this stuff. It all fall under “Bad Guys Can’t Shoot Straight Syndrome.” BGCSSS for short.Running along a ridge, framed by the sky, and a "soldier" using a rapid fire weapon cannot manage to figure out to fire ahead and not behind his target. Also, they are taking the stupidity of the Stormtroopers too far. A giant rock rolling toward him and the gunner keeps firing at it until it rolls over him? Really?
Again, the audience has been conditioned to accept this behavior. The writers wanted to convince of his dedication to the child. Twice was enough, but the 3rd time and 4th time (was there a 4th time?) was excessive.I thought the rampant dumb was Mando repeatedly running into the "force curtain" around Grogu after he failed the 1st time.
Or that people generally do dumb things in movies and TV shows that people in real life wouldn't do, but again, we're talking about people.
