I'm this close >< to plunking my money down for a set of Boston Acoustics surrounds to match my mains and I am torn between 2 models. They would be replacing my good old Rat Shack Pro AV 44's. I have the Boston CR8's up front and was all set to get the CR65's for the rear but I don't have a lot of space since the couch sits up against the back wall. Then I ran across the CR55's on the Boston site which are about 2 inches smaller in depth but sacrifice a little power handling and extension as a result.

CR65 65-20,000Hz 5 1/4 woofer, 3/4 inch tweeter, 100 watts.
CR55 80-20,000Hz 4 1/2 woofer, 3/4 inch tweeter, 75 watts.

I have a Yamaha RXV-1000 (100 watts) that crosses over to my sub (SVS) at about 90hz. Do you think I will notice a big difference in these two speakers? I can't demo the CR55's because they are special order. Right now, i'm leaning toward the CR55's because they are smaller but I really don't want to sacrifice sound quality in the process.

Any advice?

Got the 65's and they fit fine. Nice speakers for $200 a pair. Now maybe i'll get another set and go 6.1...:D
