If you were to choose one of these subwoofers which one would you buy, the SVS SB12 NSD or the EMOTIVA Ultra 12? Which one offers better performance? Thanks.

SVS and here's why.

1. Performance numbers are slightly better.

2. Better amp with DSP.

3. Much better driver. They have increased the performance of the lowest line of subs to match the performance of their older Plus series. The current NSD driver looks like it is based on the old Plus which was a TC Sounds driver with a TC2+ motor. Since the guy that had a hand in the original plus driver is now at SVS as their in-house transducer engineer, I'll bet that it is even better than the old Plus.

4. The guys at SVS are home theater nuts. They are members of this very forum. If you have a problem, you will get support from guys we have interacted with for years. Who will help you with your Emotiva purchase if something goes wrong?
