setup:

10:25pm... male friend calls my 18 yr. old stepdaughter on his cell phone.

10:30pm....male friend calls my 18 yr. old stepdaughter on his cell phone while at an Adult neighbors house (Adult neighbor is our neighbor, 3 houses down).
18yr old stepdaughter hangs up the phone & says "Adult
neighbor wants to ask me a question"...then runs out the door as I am saying....Why does somebody call you on the
phone and say "Come to my house, I want to ask you a question".

When she comes back & I again ask her same thing "Why would
somebody call & say COME TO MY HOUSE, i WANT TO ASK YOU
A QUESTION"?

Her reply: I dont know......

Is it just me, or is that kind of strange?

Her (real) mother tells me she thinks it is perfectly mormal to call somebody on the phone & ask them to come
over so you can ask them a question.

Stupid thread...huh?

Anybody care to comment?

EDIT: Actual reason for thread is Mother & Daughter both think I am an idiot, & that this is a perfectly normal thing to do!

The guy wanted to see the girl, duh!

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, there are certain legitimate reasons to call someone and ask for them to come over to ask a question or talk, etc. But all of those reasons would be something serious, like "Why did you steal my property?", "Did you run over my dog?" and other serious events. For casual teenager stuff, I agree with you, there's no reason the "question" couldn't have been asked on the phone.

LOL....about 4-5 mins.

My whole deal is dont call somebodies house at 10:30pm
to get somebody to come over & ask them a question.

Her reply to "what was the question":

The (Adult)neighbor is a volunteer fireman, he had his scanner on.
Evidently, one of her (stepdaughters) fellow empoyees
name was mentioned on the scanner & the Adult neighbor
wanted to ask her a question about him....who knows.

WHY COULD HE NOT DO IT OVER THE PHONE....her smartass reply..."maybe his phone is bugged"...hello....this info was broadcast over radio waves picked up on a RatShack scanner...lmao!

It is really pretty ridiculous, Mother & Daughter both hate me because I think it was an absurd way to do things.

Yeah...lmao...but what about mom thinking there
is nothing unusual about it.

They both think I am the wierdo.....well, more so
than normal.

EDIT: Besides, supposedly it was the adults idea that
she come over to answer the question, not hers!

She is also 18 years old and an adult now in the eyes of the law. If you are getting bugged out now over a 5 minute walk down the street, you are going to go nuts if she ever goes away from college and you have no idea what she is doing in her free time.

My suggestion would be to take it easy on her, and just cope with her behavior however irrational to you it appears. Her little walk to answer a question did not hurt her, you, or anyone else. Of course only you and her mother know this girl's history of behavior. If she is generally a good kid, I would cut her some slack, and stop getting bent out of shape over little things.

OK......so I got bent out of shape.....

Would you call somebodies 18 yr. old daughter & tell her
to come over so you could ask her a question, or, would
you, while you have her on the phone, ask her the question.

The people that called are over 40 & have kids of their own!

This is the REAL thing that bugs me!!!
