That was before I wiped it off with a wet cloth. There's a spot on the front grill I don't know how to get out yet.

Assuming the grill detaches from the front of the cabinet, I might think a damp cloth would, at least, lighten that spot.

If it was just concentrated dust, maybe a blast of compressed air first? I guess vacuuming is also a popular thing to try:

Here's a creepy AI clip: :D

There's a ton of YT clips in cleaning grills.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share my (nearly finished) humble dedicated home theater setup. I've done my best with what I can in a rental property (dark walls and ceiling to enhance the viewing experience were a bonus). Still some cable management to do, in the process to have the A/C fixed, a new sofa coming and the bladeless white fan having to go. Unfortunately, due to renting, I can't make major changes like installing a fixed screen (Vividstorm floor rising motorised out of my budget and didn't need a 0.6 ALR screen), so I decided to buy the Elite Yard Master 2 Outdoor/Indoor screen.
Setup:
1) Elite Screens Yard Master 2 Indoor/Outdoor 100in screen CineWhite UHD-B 1.1 gain (alignment is not perfect though, but I could avoid Keystone corrections)
2) Andrew Jones Speakers (including front Dolby Atmos version) 5.1.2 setup
3) SVS SB-1000 Subwoofer
4) Panasonic BD UHD 4K player
5) Hisense UST laser projector PL1H (calibrated with Calman/Spears&Munsil UHD disc - Cinema Day and Filmmaker modes, including White Balance/Gamut and Gamma corrections). Actual luminance is 14-16FL (SDR/HDR day viewing) and 16-20FL (SDR/HDR night viewing)
6) AVR Denon S750H
7) + HDFury Integral 2, PS4 with HDMI 2.1 cables...

Any suggestions or tips to make the most out of my setup are welcome, thank you!

I would probably paint the white AV cabinet/stand matte black or something (besides getting rid of or moving that "bladeless white fan").

BTW, did you simply, mistakenly list the PJ settings backwards (between day and night viewing)? I'd think you want brighter for day viewing instead of night viewing.

Thank you for pointing that out. :) Yes, brighter settings indeed for "day" viewing. As for painting the cabinet, that sounds like a great idea! I was wondering if using a spray gun could be effective for achieving a matte black finish? :emoji_thinking:

Seen in this image is a ceiling-mounted Sony VPL-VW295ES projector and Da Lite High Contrast 106" screen. Speakers seen are Paradigm Signature: S2 version 2 mains, C3 version 3 center and shelf-mounted S1 Version 3 wides. Also seen are 4 ceiling mounted Paradigm Stylus 270 atmos speakers, a pair of Hsu MBM-12 Mk2 mid bass monitors near field and a pair of Hsu VTF-2 Mk3 subs far field. On the outer right coffee table can be seen a Viewsonic VX-1655-4K-OLED and on the inner right coffee table can be seen a Samsung S9 Ultra tablet. On the outer left coffee table can be seen a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 4 cans hanging on a ROOMs headphone stand and, if you look very closely you can see a Broadlink RM4 Pro sitting on the bottom left leg of this same table. On the floor in the front corners you can see homemade 2'x4'x12" bass traps and a home-made ceiling-mounted 2'x4' sound absortion panel for the center channel. Finally you can see a pair of Amazon Echo 4th generations sitting on the mid bass monitors and all light bulbs seen are color-changing zigbee smart bulbs.

20240723_134407.jpg

Not seen in previous image is a pair of wall-mounted Paradigm Signature ADP3 Version 3 surrounds and shelf-mounted S1 Version 3 backs. Also now visiable on the inner right coffee table is a Home Theater Master SL-9000 remote . The white door you see on the left is the front door to the home, directly across from that door is a coat closet, thats where all the gear is....pictured later. Obviously large dining room entry center image and kitchen entry on the right. When using the projector during the day, and seeking maximum contrast for those all-day-gaming evolutions or movie marathons, I have a thick blanket I hang with thumb tacks over the dining room entrance. I also cover the main entrance door glass. Most view it as a ghetto solution to light control, I consider it 'justifiable home theater enthusiasm', works like a champ.

20240723_134431.jpg

The closest you'll get to a screen shot. Obviously a cell phone image will never do justice to the picture quality of a 4k OLED panel but still wanted to include a close up of the Viewsonic 15.6" monitor. Not HDCP 2.2 compliant, near as I can tell anyway with my testing cables, checking specs on websites ect. Solved with a j-tech hdmi splitter but go figure a native 4k panel won't stream paid 4k video content without it. At $400 this little panel seems overpriced yet Ive found it priceless since I'm not a fan of using my phone for streaming control. In this case I'm streaming a Sony 360 Reality Audio track from Amazon music using a Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max (not pictured).
20240723_134326.jpg

Pictured here is both the Viewsonic OLED and the Samsung S9 Ultra tablet.

20240723_134340.jpg

Seen here is a former coat closet, on the right.

20240723_134539.jpg

Components seen here in the rack is a Marantz Cinema 30, Emotiva XPA-7 Gen 3 and XPA-5 Gen 1 and an AC Infinity AIRCOM T10 Front Exhaust. Also seen is a Oppo BDP-93 that now only pulls SACD support. Top shelf of the closet is the Panasonic UB 420, Xbox Series X, Shield Pro and a BAFX wireless IR extender. The transmitter to the BAFX receiver is hidden behind the curtains seen in the first image of this post, the receiver eye is mounted on the projector screen casing also barely seen in the first image.

A few new additions and several changes to the theater. Pictured here is a SofaBaton X1S learning remote that replaces the venerable Home Theater Master SL-9000 remote. Ive been using the SL-9000 for 30 some-odd years so actually this was a big change. So far digging the flawless performance of the SofaBaton. Also seen in this shot is 3D printed charging cradle "version 2." This cradle is cool, magnetic adapted usb c so no stress on the remote usb port and easy to get the remote in and out.

Here's a close up of the magnetic adapter. Big shout-out to ebay user bigjake21782 for a brilliant and well-executed dock.

This upgrade I blame on Sound United and their quad subwoofer support in their new AVRs'. Seen here is a new Hsu VTF-2 Mk 5 subwoofer in the left rear position. Sadly Hsu doesnt offer the matching Rosenut finish they used to offer when I got my VTF-2 Mk 3 subs way back when, so the new finish doesnt match the existing subs...bass-turds.

20240803_140050.jpg

And a new VTF-2 Mk5 in the right rear position as well.

20240803_140058.jpg

Several changes to the front stage. Twin mid bass monitors have been moved to the front stage. I run the mains full range for music and using the monitors' high level inputs and internal crossovers they take over from the mains at 80 Hz. For theater I crossover all channels at 80 Hz. Also eliminated front corner bass traps and moved the existing twin VTF-2 Mk 3 subs to one foot from the front wall and one foot from the side wall. Finally first wall reflection points treated with home-made 2'x4'x4" sound absorption panels. These additions and changes made for some nice improvements, updated over-all shot.

A few changes after a kitchen/family room remodel including new cabinets, countertops, a coffee bar, and new speakers. The Basement Theater and Bonus Room are essentially the same.

New Focal speakers now in place. The second subwoofer can be seen in the bottom right image in the first collage. It is used as a low end-table. I'm hoping to figure out a way to use a Focal Viva Utopia stand as a center channel stand for the 3rd Diablo I use as a CC but am told the mounting screws wouldn't line up. Nothing drilling a few new holes wouldn't fix. I would just move the subwoofer to the right but in no hurry since 2-channel is the priority. Amplifiers are in a cabinet in the crawlspace under the family room.

Family Room – 2.2 system: Anthem STR Preamp, Bryston 6BSST, 2 ea. Focal Diablo Utopia Colour EVO, 2 ea. Scan-Speak 32W/4878T Revelator 13" Subwoofer’s, QSC PLD4.2, VPI Prime Signature 21 turntable, Ortofon MC Cadenza Bronze Cartridge, Cambridge CXC CD Transport, network and an Apple Camera Connecter, connected via the USB input, to play ALAC files using the STR DAC.

5.2 system-STR HT Bypass: Denon AVR-X6500H, LG 77 CX, 3rd Focal Diablo Utopia Colour EVO for CC, 2 ea. Infinity Cascade Model Nine surrounds, Apple 4K TV, Panasonic DP-UB820, XG1v4.

The Viva Utopia Stand I ordered to use as a center channel stand for my 3rd Focal Diablo finally came today. After Focal had originally told my dealer new holes would need to be drilled in the Viva top plate for a Diablo speaker, someone else from Focal told my dealer today they are the same. I confirmed it while installing the Diablo to the Viva stand this afternoon. Perfect fit and height.

I was so concerned with the mounting plate I didn't pay attention to the base. It is much larger than the Diablo stand base. That makes sense due to the larger size and weight of the Viva Utopia.

I don't mind the larger base for now; more protection from when my dog charges the TV screen when seeing an animal. I actually have an extra Diablo stand base if I want to change bases later. One of the foot screws was loose so Focal sent me a new base. I would just need to add glue or find a way to repair the foot/spike M8 mounting screw hole.

Now to play with placement options for my 2nd subwoofer and calibrate the system. I need to run Anthem Room Correction for my 2-channel STR and Audyssey on the Denon while in Home theater Bypass mode on the preamp.

I've been an HTF member almost since the forum's inception and had various media rooms for many years in my homes.

Recently updated my current fairly small 12' wide x 13' deep, 9' height HT and thought I would finally post the info here.

Here is the current setup:

3 HTPC's running MadVR for scaling and tone mapping (2D, 3D, UHD)
Firetv stick 4K

Polk LSi9 LCR mains
2x SVS P13 Ultra with latest upgraded Sledge amps
4x KLH surrounds
2x KLH rear height
