Yes sir!John is that your 2:35 picture on the new screen?
How did you end up installing it - dropdown or static? It's taken me quite awhile to finally dial in my new AT screen to [near] perfection but here is the completed project. I included a "before" picture for reference.

Hey Dave - It's a static installation. My first inclination was a faux wall but my wife wasn't very happy about that. I did research dropdown options but was concerned about eventual curvature along the edges. The tab-tensioned models that claimed to reduce or eliminate this were considerably more than I wanted to spend. How did you end up installing it - dropdown or static?
Yep. I moved them away from the sidewalls so they basically flank the center speaker on either side. Massive improvement!Did you relocate your main speakers with the new screen? Any improvement?
Ah, you swapped them with the subs, it seems. Much better placement, giving the speakers more room to breathe.Yep. I moved them away from the sidewalls so they basically flank the center speaker on either side. Massive improvement!

Absolutely beautiful work! Any specific reason you went with a retractable screen? Is it a multi-purpose room?Hello all!
I’ve been working on my theater room for years now. Those who remember me would probably remember me for my passion for Home Theater and my not-for-everyone personality. Lol
Here is the current setup:
JVC DLA-NX5B projector
Da-Lite 110” Contour Motorized tensioned screen
Marantz 8805a pre-pro 8k upgraded (for whatever that’s worth?)
McIntosh MC8207 amplifier
McIntosh MI254 amplifier
Oppo Blu-ray UDP-203 UHD Blu-ray
Apple TV 4K 64gb
Martin Logan Ethos mains
Martin Logan Illusion center
2x Martin Logan Balanced Force 210 Subwoofers
4x Martin Logan Motion SLM XL surrounds
4x Motion SLM Atmos speakers
Configuration is Dolby Atmos 7.2.4
I love tweaking, adjusting, tuning, but mostly I love simply enjoying it.
I’ve had many “hobbies” throughout my life but Home Theater is the constant.
Cheers!!
Photo notes: I had this room built over what was a high ceiling dinning room and hallway. The cabinets were custom built to fit in the existing recessed wall spaces. The equipment cooling is achieved by two 120mm fans cut into the counter surface of the cabinet. Air is pulled from cutouts in the bottom flange just above the kickboard.
Screen recesses into the soffit which exposes a modest flat panel for family gaming.
Room is 20” X 13’6”
