Running conduit with regular speaker wires (1 Viewer)

If you install conduit then can you run regular speaker wire or does it still have to be CL3 rated?

Our contractor gave me a few days to finish the electrical and datacom. I'm almost done with all the 120v electrical and I've purchased a media center to be intalled in a hallway.

I was wondering if I could make some "pull boxes" which would only be accessible in the crall space or atick. Are those aloud by the NEC code or do the boxes have to be accessible from the rooms on the ceiling?

If you are running any kind of speaker wire through your walls, make sure it meets the proper codes (inwall speaker cable). I got mine from Home Depot.

I agree with Neil. I ran the cable for my 3 front speakers in conduit in ceiling, and used "in wall" rated speaker cable from Home Depot.
