I know it's a relatively small category, but it's going to be a damn shame if Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban doesn't get a Visual FX nod. The work in that film is brilliant.

Agreeed Matt, and I think it should win in particular because the work on Buckbeak was not just brilliant but perfectly seamless as well. A friend who's a Visual effects guru and can spot effects I never even see couldn't tell where animatronics and CG began or ended. I'm pretty confident it will be among the nominated three, although Spiderman is probably more likely to win because the academy as a whole probably enjoyed it more or remember the effects as more of a wow factor.

What upsets are people thinking of? If anything the director category should be interesting, I wouldn't be surprised if there's only a 3peat correlation to the best picture noms. I think Eternal Sunshine has it's best chance to pick up a nomination in director with the more limited academy pool ditto for Collateral. I wouldn't be surprised if Alexander Payne got snubbed in the directing category, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

I freakin forgot to do this last night. I thought noms were like 5:30, so I'm racing in at the last second. I just copied Craig's and then tweeked a few. I should have put more thought into it, though I think most of these aren't too up in the air, just a few spots.

I didn't fill in things that I didn't have enough knowledge on to guess.
