Anderson Tapes has already had a region A release, albeit a barebones one as part of a double-bill with Physical Evidence from Mill Creek.

Oh yes, I'd love The Cheap Detective (I prefer it to Murder By Death), mind you, I have the US DVD & it does look damn good.

I think I've heard of maybe 2 of all these movies.

Gotta wonder, at this point in time, how many consumers are even out there demanding this kind of stuff, especially on disc? I can't imagine it being at all profitable to clean these up and stamp the discs.

Time to familiarize yourself. There are many gems to be found and should be discovered if you are seriously a fan of film.

Gumshoe (1972) is available on Blu-ray from Indicator as an import. Can be purchased on Amazon US or Amazon UK.

I just bought my copy off Amazon UK. Saved about $10 going AZ-UK.

On October 28th Indicator/Powerhouse Films will release Young Winston (1972) on Blu-ray with a nice selection of extras. First saw the film on a TCM broadcast and bought the dvd that had a very poor print of the film. Liked the film and will be a easy buy for me.

Special Features and Technical Specs:
  • High Definition remaster
  • Two presentations of the film: the original theatrical cut and the roadshow version containing unique footage
  • Original mono audio
  • Reflections of a Director (2007): an archival interview with director Richard Attenborough
  • A National Hero Brought to Life (2007): an archival interview with actor Simon Ward
  • Interview with stunt double Vic Armstrong (2019)
  • Interview with special effects artist John Richardson (2019)
  • Interview with make-up artist Robin Grantham (2019)
  • Interview with assistant director William Cartlidge (2019)
  • Interview with second assistant director Brian W Cook (2019)
  • Original theatrical trailer
  • Image gallery: on-set and promotional photography
  • New and improved English subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing
  • Limited edition exclusive booklet with a new essay by Sergio Angelini, an overview of contemporary critical responses, archival articles, and film credits
  • REGION-FREE

Like Universal, Sony has leasing multiple deals with Criterion, Twilight Time, Mill Creek , Grindhouse Releasing and Shout! Really? I havent heard. Whos releasing iy?
Assuming this isn’t humorous sarcasm, Skatetown USA (1979) is being released by Sony on September 24th, 2019. HTF/Amazon preorder link already up in a separate thread.
I’ve been contacting some online acquaintances who really want this title (and wrote at-length articles ) on this holy grail cult classic.

Two copies on order for me. Plus i know a few folks who will get this title as a stocking stuffer this Christmas season.

Just received my Blu-ray of Young Winston (1972) and played a few scenes. Nice bright colors and very little film damage. I can finally throw away that awful Mill Creek dvd release with the distracting artifacts.

Indicator is releasing CISCO PIKE on Blu in May. Zone B only, though; I'm sure Twilight Time would've brought this out in Zone A, maybe Sony or some other label will do it if you're not region-free.

I don't suppose it will have a stereo soundtrack. It may have been released as a mono film (never saw it in theaters) but there was a stereo soundtrack release. It's possible it could be synced up to the film, but maybe there are differences that make it impossible.

FYI: One song is performed on the roof of the World Trade Center.
