This year's Challenge was a lot of fun. But the month of October seemed to go by very fast for me this year.


I will be watching Halloween and horror-related films for at least one more week. I wish I had been able to watch these for the Challenge. I will be treating myself to some films (like the Omen saga) that I have either never watched or have not seen for several years.

Once again totally fell off the writing reviews track, though I mostly kept watching. Had a week where I only watched 1 movie, and lost another couple of days to a cub scout camping trip and a few to just being old and falling asleep . I did have a decent rally in the past couple of days to at least exceed last year's pathetic total, but I couldn't make it 31.

Nevertheless, you've managed some interesting viewings and was pleasantly surprised by your relatively enjoying the ultra-gory INSIDE (2007) which I rated *** myself. Thanks for recommending THE HYPNOTIC EYE (1960) which I'll now try to track down. I wasn't too keen on PARANORMAL ACTIVITY (2007) let alone its dumb sequel...but I might still get to scribble down reviews for them. If anything, my disappointment with these two "blockbusters" only served to heighten my satisfcation with Juan Luis Bunuel's ultra-rare poltergeist chiller EXPULSION OF THE DEVIL (1973; whose 1,000-word review is already in the can)...

Anthology series episodes count as 1 based on the theory that they are like short films. At least this was the thinking when the "rule" was put in play last year.
